Access to justice is a fundamental human right, yet many Australians face significant barriers in obtaining legal assistance. High legal fees, complex legal systems, and limited resources often leave marginalised communities including low-income families, Indigenous Australians, and rural residents, without the help they need.
The justice gap is particularly evident in cases of eviction, domestic violence, and discrimination, where legal representation can mean the difference between safety and further hardship. In 2022-23, over 792,600 legal assistance services were completed across Australia, with more than half being legal advice services. However, under current income and assets tests, only 8% of households are eligible for a grant of legal aid, while approximately 13% of Australians live in poverty, indicating a significant portion of the population unable to access necessary legal representation.

Caroline Rose Charity is committed to supporting access to justice for disadvantaged individuals. By working alongside pro bono legal services, community organisations, and advocacy groups, we aim to promote initiatives that improve legal aid accessibility. Through collaboration and awareness efforts, Caroline Rose Charity seeks to ensure that financial constraints do not determine an individual’s ability to seek justice and fair treatment under the law.
